Where the Stage Ends by Rachel Pikkert
Inspired by Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
There is a place where the stage ends and before backstage begins, And there the dancers glow soft and blue, And there the spotlights shine crimson bright, And there the dancer starts her flight, to shine in the center of the stage
For the children, they dance, and the children, they leapThe place where the stage ends. Let us live this place where the audience aplaudes back and the dark space winds and bends.Past the rooms where the little dancers growWe shall walk with a walk that is proud and slow,And watch where the beams of light goTo the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is proud and slow,And we'll go where the beams of light go,
